Our School
St Peter's Primary School Bentleigh East
Established in 1903 under the guidance of the Presentation Sisters, St Peter’s is a co-educational primary school located in Bentleigh East housed in 150 years of rich history.
We believe that Catholic school communities are most effective when parents and teachers work together to educate children with a holistic approach - academically, emotionally, socially, physically and spiritually.
Parents are always welcome to participate in classroom literacy and numeracy activities, excursions, inter-school sport and Sacramental programs.
There are also many opportunities to be involved outside of the classroom as part of the School Advisory Council and the Parents & Friends Association.

Di, mum to a Year 6 student
“St Peter’s is more than just a school for us, it’s peace of mind, warm and nurturing community where every child is valued and supported. The caring teachers go above and beyond to help students grow spiritually, academically, emotionally and socially. There’s a real sense of belonging once you walk into the school and the children feel safe, encouraged, and inspired each day. Choosing St Peter’s was one of the best decisions we’ve made.."
Testimonials
Tammie, mum to a Year 2, Year 3 & Year 6 student
"We chose St Peter’s because of the warmth we felt from the moment we did our first tour. The teachers deliver the curriculum in a supportive and engaging manner, whilst having the wellbeing of our children as a priority. It has a great sense of community that extends beyond the school hours, which our children and we as parents love to be involved in. ."
Kim, mum to a Year 1 and Foundation student
“We chose St Peter's as from the first touchpoint the care, love and pride in the school and its students was clear. In my opinion, St Peter's raises good human beings. A city school, with a welcoming community feel, we 100% made the right decision. .”
Megan, mum to Year 5 & Foundation student
“St Peters was a school I wasn't going to go and see initially for my children but I'm so glad I did. I went on an impromptu tour and straight away felt a positive vibe when I walked in. The teachers and students were all warm and welcoming and simple things like students allowing us to walk through the doorway first, holding doors open for us and the smiles we received just made me think what a pleasant place to be and values I would like to instill in my children.
Lina, mum to a Year 6 student, and two ex-students in secondary school
"When we were looking for a school for our first child, we looked at many local options, but after visiting St Peter’s our mind was made up. The welcoming and caring community feel that is St Peter’s has made our family happy for many years. We have had 3 children through the school over the last 12 years, with our youngest now in grade 6. They have each had wonderful learning journeys throughout their time at St Peter’s."
Rebecca, mum to a Year 3 & Year 4 student
“St Peter’s Primary School was the first and only school we needed to visit and do a tour of for our family.
Once we met with the principal and staff we knew this was where our children would be embarking on their primary school education journey.
The teachers at St Peter’s are warm, approachable and have a genuine love of learning. The wider school and parent community is so welcoming and they support the school and children with amazing events and activities.”
Mel, mum to a Year 4 & Foundation student, and a now Year 7 ex-student
We couldn’t be happier with our experience at St Peter’s. From the first tour and meeting with the principal, we felt so much warmth and support for our family. We knew this was the perfect school for our children, the caring
And happy staff stood out from any of the school tours we had done. Choosing a primary school is not just about education; it’s about finding a community that nurtures growth, creativity, and confidence in our children.
Jacinta, mum to a Year 2, Year 3 & Year 6 student
"The combination of solid faith-based education and a supportive, close-knit community that creates an environment where both students and families truly thrive is what drew us to St Peter's. It’s been truly special to be part of a place where lifelong friendships have been formed and shared values are guiding the growth of our children."
Corrie, mum to a Year 2 & Year 5 student, and a now Year 7 ex-student
“We have had a wonderful experience at St Peter’s Primary School over the last 7 years with three children attending. The school has a warm, welcoming community that can truly be felt when you walk onto the school grounds.
The teaching staff are not only dedicated, supportive and committed, but are friendly, kind and genuinely nurturing of both the academic and emotional development of the children. They continue to go above and beyond and it is evident that they are also happy to be there.
We appreciate how the school integrates strong Christian values into daily life, helping to shape our children’s character with kindness, respect, and faith. The emphasis on both academic success and moral development has been evident in our kids’ growth, and we feel confident they are receiving a well-rounded education.
We are so grateful to be part of the St Peter’s community and highly recommend it to any family looking for an education in a caring and inspiring environment.”
